As requested, here is the transcript from the January 22nd, 2018 interview of RPG Research members on the Hasbro Wizards of the Coast "Dragon Talk" show, including Hawke Robinson and John Welker. This transcript attempts to help those in the Deaf & HoH communities, and those with visual impairments using screen readers.

Old Research Repository

This is RPG Research's older research repository. We are currently moving more than 3,000 content items (1 multi-page essay equals 1 content item) from this old site to our new repository at www.rpgresearch.com/research . The new repository is better organized and formatted, but it takes months for our volunteers to move all this content from the old site to the new site, so we are keeping the old repository available until the move is complete. All new research is being added to the new repository, no new research is being added to this old repository as of 2018.

This community-focused website began with efforts, starting initially around 1985, and advancing since 2004, to identify the effects of role-playing games upon participants. Furthermore research efforts consider the potential uses of RPGs as intervention modalities to achieve educational and therapeutic goals for diverse populations. RPG Research is loose consortium of contributors and completely volunteer-run.

Volunteer Game Master I & Player Trainer, Trainee

A mid-level position. The Volunteer Level 1 Professional Volunteer Game Master (GM) Trainee will learn to run RPG sessions in accordance with RPG Research standards. Sessions are for a broad range of participant populations, at various locations. We do offer training for those wishing to develop the appropriate skills, and willing to regularly attend the free weekly training sessions.

Volunteer RPG Player Archetype II Trainee - Education Settings

This is an entry-to-mid-level volunteer position. The player archetype is responsible for filling the role of various role-playing gamer "types" in education settings. The participant takes on various Player Archetype roles to help train Game Master Educators to learn how to address such situations more effectively. Types include: disruptive student, distractable student, zoned-out student, argumentative student, student with various LDs, etc.

Volunteer RPG Player Archetype II Trainee - Therapeutic Settings

This is an antry-to-mid-level volunteer position. The level 1 player archetype is responsible for filling the role of various role-playing gamer "types". The Level 2 Player Archetype, for Therapeutic Settings, is a staff member that has been trained to respectfully and professionally fulfil this role in therapeutic settings. The participant takes on various Player Archetype roles to help train Game Master Therapists to learn how to address such situations more effectively. Therapeutic player archetype examples include: Autism spectrum, MD, CP, brain injury, etc. This is an approach similar to roles played in First Aid, ICU, Search & Rescue, talk therapy, and similar training programs. This is an excellent means of gaining experience toward other RPG professional positions.
