While it does appear to be true about game system differences "in the wild" having a notable impact on play style, arguably the setting and Game Master may have a much greater impact than the RPG system.

Request For Comments on Role-Playing Gaming Therapeutic Recreation Handbook of Practice Drafts - A dedicated section of the site has been setup for this proposal and drafts. Both as a repository for PDFs and Wiki pages for more direct community involvement. As I continue to peruse in depth the Recreation Therapy Handbook of Practice, and tracking the sections of the book that could use role-playing gaming as a treatment (see my eaarlier posting notes for example), I'm considering trying to take on the (overwhelming) task of creating an RPG specific version of the book...

Tonight I begin play-testing the brand new Cryptomancer RPG by Chad Walker. It is a role-playing game specifically useful for teaching the basics of Information Security (InfoSec) to laymen (and professionals), in a fun way. It is first and foremost designed as a fun fantasy RPG setting (with the InfoSec twist), that just happens to teach basic InfoSec concepts and good (and bad) practices as a byproduct of participation.
