These Maps Reveal the Hidden Structures of ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ Books

A number of people have expressed skepticism at my including Choose Your Own Adventure style books in my research on the effects of role-playing games (RPGs), and their potential uses to achieve educational and therapeutic goals. But as I explain in my presentations, lectures, and classes, what I like to categorize all books like CYOA as " Solo Adventure Books & Modules" (SABM), while they are lacking in many ways compared to tabletop, live-action, and computer-based RPGs, I still believe their have their value and use for various populations.This article is a nice bit of analysis.
