Wading back into Warhammer FRP again
by Hawke Robinson published Jun 20, 2015 last modified Feb 05, 2023 12:22 PM — filed under: , , ,
Since hearing that the folks in Israel claimed that WHFRP is less combat oriented than D&D 4th edition, I once again am trying to wade through the Warhammer rpg rule books, and will actually begin making some characters, though the whole setup of the game grates my nerves almost as much as World of Warcraft MMORPG does...

UPDATE: JULY 2017 WIZARDS OF THE COAST PROVIDED US WITH A LICENSE! - After years of trying to get any kind of response, the only one we could get for using D&D publicly, was "No" to any use by our company, RPG Therapeutics, or The RPG Research Project, or The Wheelchair Friendly RPG Trailer, and all of our community endeavors, including charity, special needs populations, brain injury recovery, veterans, Autism Spectrum, etc. Hopefully this is just a Tier 1 Support issue. But we just can't get a hold of a human being to speak to. Here is what has happened far...

by Hawke Robinson published Jun 20, 2015 last modified Feb 05, 2023 12:22 PM
The creators of The One Ring Role-Playing Game (TOR), have created the first licensed D&D-based Middle-earth RPG, "Adventures in Middle-earth". Here is a preview from a decades-long Tolkien-based gamer. While I received the PDFs many months ago, I finally received the hard copies of the d20 Tolkien RPG System based on The One Ring (TOR) by Cubicle 7: "Adventures in Middle-earth Players guide" for 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons. Definitely plan for this to be at Tolkien Moot XIII!

Raw Data from Research on Gender Bias in Gaming Community and Industry
by Hawke Robinson published Jun 20, 2015 last modified Feb 05, 2023 12:22 PM — filed under: , , ,
Since it is taking too long to get around to the formal analysis and paper write-up, I am posting much of the raw data here (without the comments for now), without much in the way of analysis. This is not the complete data set, but the more significant aspects from the very large total data.

by Hawke Robinson published Jun 20, 2015 last modified Feb 05, 2023 12:22 PM — filed under: , , , ,
In conversation on Facebook yesterday, I mentioned, as I have done a number of times in recent years, about my reading two different research reports about inpatient groups and role-playing gaming.
